So, you want to do some damage? - Fighting Guide of eRepublik


Fighting for your country is considered a civic duty and can be very beneficial to you. Fighting directly reduces your health, which you must heal with food. For each click of the "Fight" button, 10 wellness is reduced from your total health. You shouldn't fight unless you know you can afford to refill your health to at least 90. Fighting is the easiest way to level up in eRepublik. After killing an enemy you recieve one experience point for each fight as a reward.
There are many different types of weapons that can be purchased or manufactured. After acquiring a weapon, it is placed in your storage building to be use when fighting. If you have several different types of weapons, you can equip them while on the battlefield. The type of weapon you have equipped will determine how much damage you will inflict on your enemy. Every weapon has a usage limit. For example, a Tank is the second strongest weapon in the game. Once equipped, you may attack your enemy 5 times, allowing you to deal double the amount of influence you would barehanded. After the 5th use, your tank will disappear, making it unusable.
Bazookas are the newest and strongest weapon to be introduced to the game.
You may not purchase or donate a Bazooka or it's parts. The only way to obtain a Bazooka is to collect parts from the battlefield after killing an enemy. A Bazooka allows the user to deal a total of 15,000 influence no matter what rank you are. Bazookas are very important, and hard to get. You should use all your Bazookas wisely.

The Bazooka parts consists of: a Stock, a Barrel, a Scope, a M6A3 Rocket, and a Trigger Kit. All parts to a Bazooka must be collected before you can begin assemble. To assemble a Bazooka, go to your storage building, and click assemble. After assembling a Bazooka you may not switch weapons. It is highly advised to wait for an important contested battle before assembling a Bazooka.

Battlefield

Every Campaign takes place on 8 mini-battlefields. The battlefield is made up of several components; The fight button, the rank bar, the influence bar, the fighting countries, your health and your enemies health, and the "Scoreboard."

In this picture, each of the individual components is boxed.
A) The red fight button is located on the bottom of the battlefield. This button is what drives the eWorld. Every time you click it, you deal damage to your opponent, and add influence to the battle. The amount of influence per fight you do can be calculated by the formula ((Rank-1)/20+0.3)*((Strength/10)+40)*(1+(Weapon Firepower/100)) The higher quality weapon you have, the more influence per fight you will deal.
B) The rank bar is located just above the red fight button. This bar determines what rank you are in the game. Every time you defeat an opponent, this goes up based on how much influence you dealt in the fight. 10 Influence points equals 1 Rank point. When this bar fills up, it resets, and you are promoted! You will be rewarded with an energy bar, which allows you to refill your wellness bar without affecting your reserve. It is recommended that you reduce your health to zero before consuming an energy bar. This allows you to gain the most wellness out of the energy bar.
C) The influence bar is located below the fighting countries. Everytime you defeat an opponent, the influence is added to this bar. You will see your avatar scroll across the bottom of this bar with how much influence your kill added. When the Influence bar passes 50%, that side will start to score points every minute, based on the time elapsed in the battle. For the first 30 minutes, 10 points are added. For the second 30 minutes, 20 points are added. For the third 30 minutes, 30 points are added. For the last 30 minutes, 60 points are added! Battles continue until either side reaches 1,800 points or untill 2 hours pass. Battles can last up to 2 hours, and take as little time as 90 minutes.
D) The fighting countries can be seen above the influence bar. Just below the countries names you will see all the allies that can fight with that country. If the campaign is a resistance war, then the countries fight would not have any allies to aide them in the battle. If your country has a Mutual Protection Pact with another country then they would be able to fight for your country as allies. This is very important because many countries are only successful at winning battles when they have strong allies to aide them.
E) Your health and your enemies health is located below the influence bar. Your health on the battlefield directly reflects your citizen's health. Your enemy's health is considered a ghost, because it does not directly represent that player's health. When you click the red fight button, 10 wellness is reduced from your health and a specific number is reduced from your enemy's health. The goal is to reduce your enemy's health to zero to make a kill and to get the rewards.
F) The "Scoreboard." A Campaign is won by the first side to win 8 Battles. Because of this, the campaign can last up to 15 battles. When the Campaign is complete, the side that won claims the region that was contested, or successfully defends that region if they already owned it.
G) Your Weapon. The weapon you have has an effect on how much influence you deal per hit, and how much damage you deal to your opponent. You may switch the weapon you have equipped by click the arrows that are located below the currently equipped weapon.
H) Your opponent's Weapon. Your Opponents weapon has no effect on how much influene you deal per hit. However, if they have a higher quality weapon, the damage you will do to them is decreased.


Campaign Types

There are two types of Campaigns that countries can start. They are Conquest Campaigns and Resistance Wars.

Conquest Campaigns are fought between two countries and their allies. In the above image, Iran has attacked China. The region that is contested is Hormozgan. With Conquest Campaigns, each side and their allies will fight. As you can see, China has 25 allies, and Iran has 17 allies. These alliances are important, as they allow other countries to fight for you without them having to move. For example, the USA is allied with China, and because of this, you could fight in this campaign from the USA. At the end of the Campaign, whoever wins 8 Battles will take control of the region, or successfully defend the region if the winning country already owned it.

When you go to join a Resistance War you will see the above screen. You must follow instructions given to you by either your MU leadership or DoD orders when preparing to fight in a Resistance War. Resistance Wars are like Conquest Campaigns except the one of the fighting countries is a native resistance force of that region. Resistance
Wars can be started by any 10 players with 1,000 local currency. To start a resistance war: you must be located in the region you want to liberate, you have 1,000 local currency, nine others support the resistance war with you, the region must have been conqured more than 24 hours ago, the resistance force must not be fighting in a different resistance war, and the region is not invovled in a campaign. Resistance Wars are a great way to recapture lost territory. Before you consider starting a resistance war you are required to communicate with eUnited States administration. If you start a resistance war without an "okay" from the DoD, the war will turn into a damage drain, and deny us from fighting in important battles.

Once you get into the battle, you will see a screen similar to the one above. One side will be listed as the "Resistance Force" and the other will be the country that the region is in. To fight in a resistance war, you must either be in the region that is contested, or in the country that currently owns the region. If the country that currently owns the region wins, they will keep control of the country. However, if the Resistance Force wins, the region will go back to whoever the region belongs to originally, not to which country started it.

Military Units

Military Units are groups of players who have joined together to fight in battles. Many Military Units have forums and IRC channels where they congregate together to decide where they are going to fight. Some Military Units have communes. Communes are companies that Military Unit leadership uses to supply members of the MU. Most MUs require their members to work in communes to recieve supplies. Joining one of these is the most important thing you can do in eRepublik, as they will help to supply you with food and weapons, so you can fight more, and deal more influence.
